Pitch your Osas Intensive Body Lotion & Zero-Mark Cream: Be Very Afraid {Beauty in the News}
Two older articles remind us that beauty products can be hazardous for your health when sourced from outside of a regulated environment. Both products were sold in so-called ethnic stores and could be and are still available on the internet for one of them (OSAS is).
One, Zero-Mark Natural Fairness Cream (Pitch it right now!) is a whitening cream, a real curse in some communities where women in particular experience pressure to whiten their skins sometimes at the risk of dying from it. This product has been found to contain 26mg/kg of lead! It's déjà vu all over again: remember blanc de céruse in 17th, 18th century Europe?
"Tests have indicated "Zero-Mark Natural Fairness Beauty Cream" contains lead, a chemical ingredient prohibited in cosmetics and is known to have toxic properties which in severe cases can lead to brain and nervous system damage."....
I did not see Zero-Mark Natural Fairness Cream for sale on the net, but I've seen other so-called "Natural Fairness" creams which can only raise your suspicion levels. So, please bear in mind that these products are not to be taken lightly.
As a French doctor said not long ago as part of an anti-whitening campaign organized by the city of Paris in areas of the capital city that are more at risk, the rule of thumb to follow here is that the more powerfully whitening a cream, the more dangerous it is. Healthy, acceptable products against age or sun spots, say, sold in the legal circuit are only mildly whitening.
Pendle Today: Urgent Warning over Contaminated Cream
Another product Osas Intensive Body Lotion has been found to contain steroids!
"The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has found steroids in an intensive body lotion with Aloe Vera called OSAS, which claimed to contain natural ingredients. The lotion which is an unlicensed product illegally claimed to treat eczema and psoriasis and has been found to be sold in a variety of Asian and African beauty shops in London and the West Midlands and over the Internet."Despite a warning issued in 2007, the product can still be found online via alibaba.com.
