Julie London's Lipstick: Crave-Worthy {Inspirational Look}
I was watching a video for the song "Sway" sung by Julie London on You Tube when I came across this picture which is part of the photo montage. And as soon as I saw it, it gave me a yearning to wear lipstick! Not that you will necessarily do it immediately, but it's inspirational, to me at least. When I think a little more about it, I think that what really showcases her painted lips in this picture is her complexion. It conveys the idea that applying a sultry-siren lipstick can still go together with a fresh, innocent and natural look...
It's a great reminder to think beyond the lippie color concept and apprehend it as a final, deserved touch like a cherry atop a cake following an irreproachable skin routine (we're talking ideal beauty time-out here.) Lipstick does not mask or colorize anymore, it is here to bring out the luminosity of the complexion.
And by the way, that song is sooo sultry. In my experience it's best to listen to it while watching pictures of Julie London at the same time because she did add by her presence. When I listen to the song without seeing her, her vocals are not that smoky-voiced anymore. It's like for some perfumes, they just smell better when you see them reflecting the light in a great flacon (I actually tend to prefer opaque bottles for practical reasons because you can display them then.)
Now I feel like I need to do a post on an older woman with great wrinkles so that I don't send out the message that an inspirational look is always photo-shoot ready. Oh, I already did actually, but it was for a man's wrinkles, Keith Richards'.
