Olay Definity Self Repair Serum: It Works Folks {Beauty Product Review - Skin}
As I was fiddling around in my stashes of beauty products looking for a lighter cream or lotion to help me transition from colder to warmer weather, I happened on this little number, Olay Definity Self Repair Serum, which I had picked up during a previous drugstore run and never used it. I decided to give it a go. My main concern here was to find a moisturizer that would be light enough to use with sunscreen on top without it all becoming a stifling barrier for the skin.
After a week or so later of (interrupted) use, I had to notice not only the immediate effects but the medium-term ones, and they were good...
The immediate visible impact when you start using Olay Definity Self Repair Serum is that it's great for providing an instant silken texture to the skin, which is appreciated but not that exceptional now that creams so often act as makeup with silicone in them or sophisticated light-refracting particles. In fact, if anything, using a cream that masks up defects immediately can be a sign that it is just not going to make much effort beyond providing a cosmetic level of satisfaction.
However after just a few applications, I had to notice that my skin had suddenly improved. Reading the fine print more closely and the promise to cross 10 layers of skin to correct dullness, brown spots, uneven tone, and what not -- well, I had to admit, it seemed to be doing just that.
This serum which boasts a Glucosamine complex is very efficacious in my experience for any type of discoloration or scars or pimples. I've decided that I personally won't use it as a replacement for a daily moisturizer (need more hydrating power) but it works so well for improving common skin problems that I apply it wherever it's needed, like a treatment cream.
Glucosamine is considered to be helpful in fighting against the aging or stress experienced by joints, ligaments, the synovial liquid, cartilage, bones and is also used as a dietary supplement to those effects.
Another positive which is not emphasized by the brand but which I noticed is that it is efficacious as well for shrinking pores.
It's a great drugstore find. I have tested a quantity of Olay products in the past and this is a keeper.
List price is $23,85
