French Pharmacy Beauty Find: Caudalie Lip Conditioner with Grape Seed Oil {Beauty Review - Lips}
Simply put, this Lip Conditioner - Soin des Lèvres by French beauty brand Caudalie, deserves the title of hero product. It is one of the best lip balms available on the international market. It does not just grease your lips but conditions them subtly. It also has a slight anti-oxydant effect as you experience it soon enough as your mouth appears perkier around your cupid's bow...
You can either plan to have fun with lip balms, and for instance, play with flavors, or look for a serious beauty product for the urban life style, and this is the category where this balm falls into. For mountain sports there might be some heavy-duty balms which would be more adequate although a user from Colorado said it was the only product that had helped her reduce her cracked lips (source: Sephora.com).
The scent is that of gentle vanilla. The sheen is discreet. Textures glides on easily. It conditions even after the balm has left the premises and does not have just a superficial effect.
Cons for me are that the stick can break too easily; price is in the upper range at $12/ (3,50€ in Europe) but sometimes you can find them in packs of three, at least in France.
It's formulated with 99,5% of natural ingredients, which is a big plus as on the long run natural products are friendlier to your skin, and health.
Main ingredients listed are grape polyphenols, shea butter, castor oil. Caudalie have built their reputation on their extensive use of winemaking by-products having started out by recycling the discarded skins and seeds from the fruits.
In the US, it's available at Sephora. In France, in parapharmacies.
