The Fifth Sense in the News: A Fragrance Inspired by Cheese, Eau de Stilton
The launch of Eau de Stilton was announced today on the BBC. Nigel White, a representative for the Stilton Cheese Makers Association said, "The perfume has a very earthy, musky, herby type of background which is very different to the very sweet perfumes you smell wafting down the street as someone walks past you."...

Nope. Don't believe it. I just cannot fathom. And I LIKE Stilton, heaven help me.
They do make perfumes smelling of dust on a light bulb, concentrated milk, and Cognac. I think there's a realization in our time that ANY smell could make its entrance in a perfume, you just need to imagine it and ask for it.
If the news are confirmed, I'll plan to order a sample:)
Nope, it's not a joke! Boisdejasmin wrote about it, too, on her blog.
You are so right: Wonders never, ever do cease. LOL!
Hugs!
Well, the story is indeed traveling around:) It's believable but borderline incredible; if I had read this on April 1, I would have thought for certain it was a joke.
A pungent cheese seems to be so antinomic to perfume -- I find the cheese makers in this case to have shown both much naïveté (optimism) and audacity (within the mainstream Western context).
