L'Eau Ensoleillante by Clarins {New Perfume]
Clarins is issuing a third fragrance/therapeutic eau de toilette called L'Eau Ensoleillante (Sunshine Fragrance). The eau includes essences of Sicilian mandarin, grapefruit, ylang, Tonka bean, and patchouli. It comes after L'Eau Dynamisante (a long-time favorite of mine) and L'Eau Ressourçante. Griffonia seeds are said to contain a precursor of serotonine and help regulate nervous tensions. Watermelon provides a tonic effect. Extracts of mimosa, linden, and chamomilla are soothing and hydrating.
It will be available from March 2007 for 41 Euros for a 100 ml flacon.

Dear Marie-Helene,
As I am a sales representative - and visit regularly visit psychiatric clinics.. mental health , mood etc is always on my mind.
I love the idea that Clarins has made yet another fragrance with aronatherapy in mind .
To think that serotonin - a neurotransmitter essential for "normal mood " as opposed to dysthymia (low grade depression) etc. is welcome and refreshing .
BTW, I too loved Eau Dynamisante - I am curious about the Griffonia seeds .. I will check this out . After all what is fragrance but a form of aromatherapy --
Dear Madelyn,
How interesting that as a sales representatives you visit psychiatric units -- what is the connection?
Yes, fragrances can have a powerful effect on our moods, even when not aromatherapeuthic per se.
Sounds nice! I like citrus scent for their aromatherapeutic effect.
Griffonia seeds are said to contain a precursor of serotonine and help regulate nervous tensions.
Even if it is a serotonine precursor, I highly doubt it can up the serotonine production used only as fragrance ingredient.
Another silly marketing ploy?
What`s next, Eau de L-Dopa? Dopaminergic fragrance?
Benvenuta,
Well, at least we know it's in the mix:)
