Dior will issue a new fragrance, the fifth in the Poison franchise, called Midnight Poison, not to be confused with Midnight Charm. Actress Eva Green (Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royal" and Isabelle in "The Dreamers") will be the face for the new scent. Green said.....

"she dislikes what she considers strong "old lady" scents and often goes without fragrance, but noted she's smitten with Midnight Poison. "It's quite fresh compared to the other Poisons — it's younger, fresher, like the commercial,"

The advertisement, which shows Eva Green running on and swinging from the top of the Opéra Garnier in Paris, was shot by director Wong Kar Wai of "In The Mood For Love".

  1. I have to say Eva Green is an eminent choice for any scent, yet the claim that she goes for this because it is light and fresh and young...hmmm....according to my research, she goes for Melograno SMN; which is not exactly that (and she is even quoted as saying that she loves it because of the incense ambience it has). So...hmmm...*enter scepticism*
Yet I do love Wong Kar Wai and am looking forward to what they come up with, at least visually.
    Thanks for the report.

  2. Marie-Helene, I hear you. I do not understand women who worry about whether a scent is 'old' or 'young.' I thought perfume went beyond that. I never bothered with that sort of thing. I wore the first Poison when it came out in the 80s. At the time, I was in my early 30s. I never considered it old or new. I liked it, I bought it, I wore it. Period.

I guess I'm more self-assured than other women. I just wear a scent because I like it. I don't care whether it smells old or young. As long as I'm comfortable with it, that's all that matters.
