Dior Escale à Portofino (2008) {New Fragrance - New Line}
Dior created a new collection of fragrances illustrating a summery cruise theme and plans to launch a new fragrance each year. The first one to be launched in May of 2008 is called Escale à Portofino and is described as a reinterpretation of a classic cologne but with feminine accents. It was created by perfumer and LVMH-Dior artistic director François Demachy........
A "cold spices" accord is advertised, a technical expression in perfumery which I assume is used in this sense here to mean spices that don't have a lasting effect as "hot spices".
Escale à Portofino:
Top notes: Calabrian bergamot - Italian citron - Sicilian petitgrain
Heart notes: bitter almond - orange blossom - juniper berry - cold spices
Base notes: cypress - cedar - white musk - caraway - galbanum.
"Escale à Portofino will make its international debut in May, with a 75ml edt retailing at £40 and a 125ml bottle selling for £56.50."
According to Cosmetic News, it will have a limited distribution from June and be sold only through one door in the US. It is another attempt for Dior to present an exclusive boutique image after La Collection Particulière.
