LVMH - Dior Accused of Using Lead in their Lipsticks
Fashionmag.fr briefly reports that the world leader of luxury LVMH has become the target of a class action lawsuit from people accusing one of its brands, the Dior label, of using lead in its lipsticks...
A judge in Chicago reportedly rejected LVMH's request to ignore the complaint which was filed in November 2007.
The problem might be more commonplace than expected. According to Enviroblog, amongst one batch of 33 lipstick brands tested by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a disquieting 61 % showed detectable levels of lead in their products although the ingredient was nowhere to be seen listed.
