American rapper and actor 50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, is set to launch his debut signature fragrance called Power which is scheduled for a worldwide launch in 2010. The scent was designed to have broad, even "universal" appeal going beyond the frontiers of the USA and American taste preferences. 50 Cent commented that from where he comes from, i.e., South Jamaica in Queens, N.Y, the perfume culture amongst his old friends is pretty much restricted to Right Guard.

The fragrance was developed by 50 Cent together with perfumer Harry Fremont of Firmenich.

The juice has top notes of lemon leaves, black pepper and artemisia. Its core is of dark woods, inspired by the wood panels used in a Bentley car, coriander and nutmeg. The drydown is of patchouli, musk and oakmoss.

Two sizes of eaux de toilette will be available: a 1.7 oz. for $50.50 and a 3.4 oz. for $68.50.
