Annick Goutal Mandragore Pourpre (2009): A New Facet of the Mandrake Root {New Perfume} - Update
Annick Goutal will release a variation on the mandrake root but not of the original Mandragore (2005) in August 2009 called Mandragore Pourpre (Crimson-Purple Mandrake). According to the press release, the perfume is a spicy aromatic chypre and is a completely different interpretation of the mandrake root...
It is said to be a departure from the original fresh and woodsy Mandragore.
The unisex Eau de Toilette brings out further the dark and mystical aspects of mandrake root, a plant which to this day has kept a magic-medieval-potion connotation in people's imaginations.
Notes are: bergamot, mint, star anis, amber, rosemary, geranium, black pepper, patchouli leaf, myrtle, incense and heliotrope.
Mandragore Pourpre will be available in a 100-ml. square bottle priced in the United Kingdom at 59 pounds, or $95 at current exchange, or in a more feminine ribbed 100-ml. flacon for 71 pounds, or $114.
