Musk is with civet the preeminent aphrodisiac aroma in Western perfume culture. Here are two TV commercials for mass-marketed drugstore brand Jovan Musk from 1981 and 1985. The latter is fronted by Billy Dee Williams.
The original Musk was launched in 1972.
In the 1981 commercial, the tag line is "Jovan Musk Oil for Men and Women have brought more men and women together than any other fragrance in history."...
In the 1985 commercial, the accent is put on American male sexiness, "Jovan Musk, we help American men stay sexy."
