Hanae Mori Sustain Their Efforts in Sustainable Perfumery with No2 (2010) {New Perfume}
While this spring 2010 the US market is just discovering the first fragrance by Hanae Mori to launch in their newly-minted collection of eco-conscious sustainable perfumes called Eaux de Collection which debuted with No1, the French market will be able to discover both No1 and No2 at the same time.
Eau de Collection No2 is already out in France although its launch has been discreet. Indeed, the event does not belie the opening line which introduces both fragrances as "Le secret le mieux gardé de Madame Hanae Mori", "The best-kept secret of Hanae Mori"...
Presented as a duo in France, the perfumes are said to complement each other following a story line: "Like the dual facets of the same woman, the differing imprints of her femininity blowing both hot and cold air, No1 and No2 were born."
While No1 is described as being fruity, floral, musky and woody, No2 develops the main facets of fresh, hesperidic, fruity and ambery notes.
No2 opens on mandarin, blackcurrant and mint leaves. Its heart rests on notes of peach, apple, patchouli and white musk. The base is composed of teak wood, amber, cedar wood and benzoin tears.
The jus of No1 is tinted pink and that of No2 is blue but both flacons reprise the iconic Hanae Mori butterfly and a graphism offering a sample of boldly-styled Chinese calligraphy.
No2 is set to launch in the United States at a significantly later date.
