Le Jardin Parfumé (2010): New Reference Book on Scented Plants, with a Foreword by Jean-Paul Guerlain {Fragrant Readings}
A new book entitled Le jardin parfumé (The Perfumed Garden) dealing with the topic of how to select 450 of the most fragrant and diffusive species to plant in your garden is out since March 2010. It is authored by Nicole Boschung and Michèle Giraud...
The foreword is written by perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain who is well-known for studying the scents of flowers and plants in close proximity to nature and in particular from his garden, as did his forebears. He incidentally lives in Paris extra muros, preferring the charms of the countryside to the Parisian city life.
The book is by publisher Larousse who are well-known for their dictionaries. The copy promises that the reference book is only interested in cataloguing "really diffusive flowers and plants," while providing a textual description of their scents put into words. Practical cultivation tips are offered.
