Dior J'Adore L'Or (2010): Upping the Essence Ante {New Fragrance}
Dior will launch a new iteration of their pillar fragrance J'Adore called J'Adore L'Or (I Adore Gold) from the end of October 2010. The new jus is said to be made in an "essence de parfum" concentration which sounds like a cross between a pure-extrait concept and that of an eau de parfum; it will be available in a 40 ml flacon for about 110,50€.
Head perfumer François Demachy has revisited the composition to bring out even richer and lusher floral facets thanks to essences sourced from Grasse in the south of France, a traditional and historical production center of floral essences. In particular, the house of Dior addressed themselves to "Domaine de Manon" a property operated by the same family for 3 generations...
The Dior team reportedly accessed some of the finest raw materials available, in this case hand-picked May Rose (Rosa Centifolia) and Jasmine (Jasminum Grandiflorum) from Grasse.
Perfumer Demachy has said in the past that as one colleague to another he deeply admires the formula of J'Adore originally created by nose Calice Becker, even confessing to having felt envious of its perfection.
J'Adore L'Or sees its rich floral bouquet dressed with Oriental layers created by notes of tonka bean absolute, vanilla absolute from Tahiti, patchouli and labdanum. Demachy speaks of the presence of "more density" regarding the new perfume flanker.
Fashion quotes are made in reference to the gold champagne silk of the Aladin outfit by Dior from the 1947 collection to stress the long-time interest by the brand in the transmutative powers of gold, in any form.
Actress Charlize Theron will as usual grace the advertising campaign and be featured with the mythical river Pactolus.
