5 Perfumers Reveal Their Fashion Savvy {Fragrant Reading}
Perfumers are more often than not asked to translate the vision of a fashion designer into liquid meaning. In a reverse exercise hosted by French magazine L'Express, 5 perfumers - Jean-Claude Ellena, Thierry Wasser, Francis Kukdjian, Fabrice Pellegrin and François Demachy - were asked to imagine what style of fashion would best embody one of their latest creations... For those who are used to seeing a brand correspondence between a given fragrance and its sartorial department, it is an expression of further creativity to see that Ellena turns to the Issey Miyake catwalk rather than the Hermès one to describe Iris Ukiyoé and that François Demachy who is attached to Dior turns to the look of a Kris van Assche outfit.
