Amouage Opus IV to Benefit Aids Research (2010) {New Fragrance}
The Omani house of Amouage will release a new fragrance from December 1, 2010 in their Library Collection called Opus IV. The jus, concocted by perfumer Jacques Flori and artistic director Christopher Chong, aims to raise awareness about the ongoing pandemic of Aids / HIV plaguing the planet and will contribute 50% of its global proceeds to the National HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control Program (NAP) in Oman. Chong said,
"Our fragrances have always centered on delivering a distinct and compelling message, not just the creation of beautiful and artistic scents. With the startling number of new HIV infection cases reported globally each year, education remains a powerful and paramount instrument to prevent the spread of HIV and grant univcersal acess to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services. Opus IV is our contribution to raising awareness on this growing epidemic across all corners of the world, which today is one of the world's most pressing public health matters."...
Opus IV is said to open on top notes of lemon, mandarin and grapefruit with a counterpoint of warm, spicy coriander. The heart rests on elemi oil, cardamom and cumin mingling with rose berries, rose and violet leaves. The base notes are woody and smoky with notes of labdanum, frankincense and musk.
In the USA, the perfume will debut at Bergdorf Goodman and MiN Crosby.
The Library Collection was launched in the summer of 2010 with 3 inaugural scents: Opus I, II, and III.
