Rochas Muse de Rochas (2011) {New Perfume}
Jean-Michel Duriez, the in-house perfumer for Rochas is inspired by the original muse of the house, Hélène Rochas, the third and last wife of founder Marcel Rochas, to create a perfume called Muse de Rochas. To her was initially dedicated the fragrance called Femme de Rochas in 1944. At the same time, the perfumer turned to several feminine icons among which are named Juliette Greco, Brigitte Bardot, Lou Andréas Salomé, Yoko Ono, Jeanne Hébuterne which interest the nose for their power of seduction and their capacity to be trend-setters...
The Eau de Toilette then sounds much less heavy than these heavy-weights as it is defined as a fresh floral oriental.
Muse de Rochas opens on top notes of bergamot, orange sap, banana leaves, mango and peach. The heart features notes of narcissus from Auvergne, orange blossom, and cinnamon. Base notes are an Oriental accord, styrax, Ambrarome, Australian sandalwood, Vanilla from Madagascar, white musk.
The bottle restyles the amphora-shaped flacon which houses Femme de Rochas, inspired by the generous hips of Hollywood legend Mae West. The cap now offers a bias-cut profile.
