Annie Tomlin of Bella Sugar interviewed perfumier Frédéric Malle of Editions de Parfums at Barney's New York....

Malle talks about his Parisian upbringing, fashion, being interested in the world and others, being copied. Despite acknowledging being inspired by other fragrances as seen through the lens of memory, he insists that it is never about plain copying but on the contrary always starting with a white sheet of paper.
