Michael Kors to Launch Golden Version of Signature Scent {Fragrance News}
Michael Kors will introduce a fresher, sheerer version to his signature scent, Michael Kors EDP, the designer reveals in an interview with Allure magazine. The new perfume is called Gold Eau de Toilette and features notes of tuberose, magnolia, freesia, orange blossom, and musk...
It launches in August 2011. Kors said,
"Fragrance to me is very much like fashion — you can't have a closet full of ball gowns until you have the perfect LBD. You need a fragrance you can wear every day. Gold is romantic and warm and glamorous all at once. But it's everyday glamour."
The name of the fragrance is a reference to that moment in the day called the "golden hour;" for Kors it happens at 5 pm,
"I think every person on the planet would benefit if we could live our lives in the golden hour, that time around 5:00 in the afternoon when the sunlight is at its best, when you're on a beach and people look their best. A fragrance can take you to that place; it has that power."
Another scent by Kim Kardashian launched this year which is also called Gold. Interestingly, coincidentally or not, Michael Kors EDP did seem to have been a source of inspiration for the original Kim Kardashian EDP perfume.
