Van Cleef & Arpels Precious Oud No. 04855AM (2011) {New Fragrance}

Van Cleef & Arpels will be expanding their Collection Extraordinaire inaugurated in 2009 with the new addition of an aloeswood fragrance called Precious Oud No. 04855AM.

Like with the former offerings the new jus is inspired by natural raw materials but this time the brand considers the composition to benefit from more creative freedom. If the initial 7 fragrances are deemed to be the classic building blocks of the collection, Precious Oud No. 04855AM is more of a free study for the perfumer who created it, Amandine Marie, a student of Michel Almairac...

The number affixed to the name of the perfume is the perfumer's reference number.

Precious Oud is a floral-oud perfume.

The eau de parfum opens on top notes on fresh and sparkling top notes of bergamot, but also pink peppercorn and the initial whiffs of a rich incense. The heart is a vibrant floral bouquet featuring a sensual jasmine and a heady tuberose. The deeper notes are played out by patchouli, aloeswood, sandalwood, vetiver and amber. 

A 75 ml spray bottle is priced at 130€ and is available from August 2011.
