L'Eau by Vanessa Bruno + Biotherm (2011) {New Fragrance}

Fashion designer Vanessa Bruno, whose sparkly bags are ubiquitous on the streets of Paris, nowhere else more perhaps than in the 16th arrondissement, will amp up her brand recognition factor with a debut perfume to be launched in collaboration with Biotherm called L'Eau. Yes, if ithe title sounds familiar to you, it is. It sounds just like the one called L'Eau, albeit by Serge Lutens. The latter had predicted that he would be copied, and he was right apparently...
Biotherm is better known as a cosmetics label although a few, spa-oriented fragrances have been issued.
The perfumer who composed the new fragrance is Bernard Ellena, the brother of Jean-Claude Ellena of Hermès. He previously created Paradise Mist for Biotherm.
According to Elle UK, the new scent offers 21% of essential oils meant to uplift your mood. The tonic eau opens on notes of lemon, tangerine and blood orange seguing into a heart of Bulgarian rose and lily of the valley and finally drying down with notes of Lebanese cedar, amber and musk.
The partnership with Vanessa Bruno is unexpected although judging from a cuisine feature in Elle France last summer, the designer is very health-conscious and might be a natural fan of healthy, minimalist clean scents.
It's a very limited edition, at least in the UK as Elle reports that only 100 bottles will be availble in fair Albion. In France, the perfume will debut on October 17, 2011.
Price: 42€.
