Prada Essence No.11 Cuir Styrax is Dedicated to Purists (2011) {New Fragrance}

Prada have launched a new perfume in their Collection des Essences Exclusives established in 2003 called Essence No. 11 Cuir Styrax.

Dedicated to the art of perfumery in the purest olfactive sense possible, this boutique library of scents aims to rely on precious ingredients, break the mold of conventional perfumery and in doing so, discard the classic pyramidal structure...

The fragrance, which was reportedly inspired by the warmth and sumptuosity of leather, was art-directed by Miuccia Prada and composed by perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan.  The latter has become a de-facto in-house perfumer for the brand as she seems to be able to capture the sensibility of the house like no other.

The spirit of the fragrance is said to exude subtle yet deliberate self-confidence. The best quality of neroli was used together with the animalic and spicy facets of styrax. A synthetic, captive white-musk molecule called Serenolide was associated with surabsolue de vanille to create an intense environment. Incense develops at the core of the perfume to add sensuality to the "sublimely sensual" leather accord.

The Essence is available in a 30 ml flacon whose simplicity wants to call attention to the richness of the perfume only. A white Saffiano leather case doubled with silk is also available separately for 230€.
