4 Apple Scents for Fall {Perfume List}
Eating Canada Gris apples baked with herbs today set my ideas in motion about apple scents that are just right for fall. Not the crisp variety but the warm, mellow type. The perfumes that might smell in the olfactive range of a Tarte Tatin with its notes of softened hot apple, caramel and butter. Add to that a dollop of fresh cream...
In a crisper interpretation, apple scents for fall should suggest mossy earth, ozone, apple cider and apple picking in the cold. Mmm - that's lots of gourmand notes.
As it turns out there are two new fragrances out based on an accord of Golden Delicious. Then, I thought I would add two others that were released in the past to capture that warm apple-y sensation, in case you are craving that sort of things right now.
Demeter have a new one of their realistic accords out - and it's called Golden Delicious. They do not just do photorealistic perfumes, but it's sort of their mainstay.
"With Golden Delicious from Demeter, you can create your own legendary memories or borrow our favorite, that crisp fall day when, as kids, we went apple picking. The fragrance of the ripe fruit was so strong we did not want to wash our hair for days, for fear of losing the scent and the moment."
Donna Karan are continuing their apple explorations of New York City with Golden Delicious, a floral interpretation of the scent of the yellow apple.
Notes: Orange Flower Water, Mirabelle, Golden Delicious Apple, White Rose, Casablanca Lily, Vanilla Orchid, Muguet, Musk, Sandalwood, and Teakwood.
If you are hankering for a creamy apple scent, you can turn to Brandy Eau de Toilette. It has reportedly become famous especially among horse people as it was first dreamt up by artist Patricia Namm who took inspiration from her Palomino horse, Brandy.
"We think it is the suggestion of distant fields, rolling aromatic meadows, apple and peach top notes, and herbaceous heart notes that account for the appeal of this pleasing scent. Just one mist from the handsome eau de toilette spray bottle has the ability to erase stress and turmoil, and transport the most jaded urban dweller to verdant countryside for a reviving and cleansing visit."
Finally, last but not least, you can turn to the sweet Oriental suggestions of Hermessence Ambre Narguilé, which as its name does not indicate smells of warm, spicy apple pie. The apple accord in it is a reference to apple-scented Turkish tobacco.
Notes: amber, benzoin, labdanum, musk, vanilla, caramel, honey, sugared tonka bean, grilled sesame seeds, cinnamon, rum, coumarine, white orchids.
