Bond No.9 New York Amber (2011) - Update {New Fragrance}
New-York specialist perfume house Bond No.9 have introduced a new perfume inspired both by the perfumery ingredient amber and the city it has dedicated itself to. "New York Amber" launches with the tag line "Bond No.9 breaks the rules of amber."...
By this, they seem to mean that they have translated the spirit of a classic amber perfume from Europe into one more adapted to American taste, and especially if we are to believe them, New-York taste.
"Yes, we have taken this legendary old-world classic and transformed it into a self-assured, highly seductive, highly persuasive metro-perfume."
The fragrance notes are: bergamot, saffron, nutmeg, white peppercorn, majestic rose, jasmine, osmanthus, oud, amber, sandalwood, musk, myrrh, benzoin tears.
Looking at the notes, they look uncannily similar to those of Harrods Amber, launched earlier this year as a London-exclusive. As a matter of fact, they read as being identical. Harrods Amber however is still currently for sale on the brand's website, but with a slightly less expensive price tag.
Update: New York Amber, as it turns out, does offer the same formula as Harrods Amber, but in a different concentration than Harrods Amber. While the latter is an Eau de Parfum at 18% concentration, New York Amber is in an amped-up parfum concentration, at 30%, according to a Bond No.9 spokesperson.
A 100 ml bottle is priced at $330, a 50 ml one at $260.
