A More Intense Idole de Lubin is Now Dedicated to the Great Women Explorers (2011) {New Fragrance}
The house of Lubin have released a new, more intense version of the 2005 Idole de Lubin eau de toilette composed by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. The 2011 Idole eau de parfum, by the same nose, is meant this time to be a homage to intrepid and heroic figures of women explorers. Names such as Alexandra David-Neel, Mary Kingsley, Amelia Earhart, or Karen Blixen are evoked....
The new flacon by Serge Mansau and Studio Lubin is a stylized, more abstract version of the original which offered a more recognizable reproduction of a totemic mask. As part of the story-telling by the house, we are invited to imagine that the black obsidian bottle surmounted by a Baltic amber cap is a talisman carried by modern amazons on their travels.
Notes of amber, cistus and oliban have been added to the original brew of ebony wood, spices, rum and leather to soften the heart of the fragrance and in order to deepen its sillage.
The perfume opens on head notes of rum absolute, saffron, black cumin and bitter orange peels seguing into a heart of doum wood, smoky ebony, oliban and sugar cane. The base notes rest upon leather, red sandalwood, amber and cistus.
