Gydja Collection VJK Vatnajökull (2011) {New Fragrance} {Men's Cologne}
Following up on the launch last year of EFJ Eyjafjallajökull for women, Gydja Collection are introducing a second scent for men this time inspired like the first by the volcanic nature of Iceland. VJK Vatnajökull is named after Europe's largest glacier and is partly composed of the water from the glacier while the essences are from Grasse in France....
To reinforce the wildness-attraction factor, a black lava rock from the latest eruption is attached to the neck of the bottle.
Brand founder Sigrun Lilja Gudjonsdottir, commented,
"Well, since the success of EFJ Eyjafjallajokull, I received a number of requests to develop a scent suitable for men; so I decided to delve into creating a fragrance for men using similar identifiable tones to EFJ, but with a sharp, masculine edge."
Vatnajökull was seen as an appropriate symbol of masculinity:
"We wanted a name synonymous with power and strength, and seeing as Vatnajökull is the largest glacier in Europe, we thought that the name fitted the concept perfectly as it encompasses all of those elements of masculinity."
The face of the fragrance is actor Thorvaldur David Kristjansson (picture is from IMDB.)
The scent will be available for sale on gydja.is
