Camellia comes after Eau de Fleur de Thé, Eau de Fleur de Yuzu, Eau de Fleur de Soie, Eau de Fleur de Magnolia, and Eau de Fleur de Prunier...
The perfume was composed by nose Jean Jacques of Takasago, who already did Soie, Yuzu and Prunier (the latter with Francis Kurkdjian.) He is also the author of L'Or by Torrente, which was reviewed here.
The composition is an evocation of red camellia Japonica. The eaux in this series are of the watercolor variety.
"attractive red over teasing petals: camellia offers its irresistible femininity. A delicate flower that leaves a sparkling floral trail smoothed by a musky base."
Shiseido, who use camellia as their symbol, say that red camellia signifies "humble beauty" in Japanese culture.
