This spring 2012, Guerlain, Elizabeth Arden and L'Occitane en Provence have introduced three new perfumes inspired by cherries, be it by the fruit, the blossom or the wood. They are Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Cherry Blossom Eau Parfumée and L'Occitane en Provence Cherry Princess - Princesse Cerise.

Guerlain_La_Petite_Robe_Noire_2012.jpgGuerlain have revisted the 2009 composition, originally co-created by Delphine Jelk, the perfumer, and Sylvaine Delacourte, the artistic director. In-house perfumer Thierry Wasser concentrated, in particular, on reworking the cherry accord with the aim to paint it darker (cf. Cosmétique Mag, février 2012)...

Fragrance notes: Black cherry, almond, bergamot, rose, licorice, black tea, tonka bean, patchouli.

More news and a review of the new version to follow soon. We'll draw a comparison with the first version.

cherry_princess.jpgL'Occitane en Provence continue to weave their cherry theme with a new entry aimed at the youth market. This spring, the new scent called Cherry Princess - Princesse Cerise Eau de Toilette is presented on the perfumery stands as a fruity floral and a gourmand and that is how it smells, albeit styled light. It feels like a starter cherry perfume, which might indicate that it aims to be a children perfume as well, or one for people who love very light, baby perfumes.

"Once upon a time, there was a princess with a beautiful porcelain complexion. She would blush in response to any compliment, her cheeks taking on the color of ripe, mouth-watering cherries. As the seasons changed, she loved to contemplate the cherry trees, their white blossoms giving way to shiny, juicy fruits."

Fragrance notes: lemon, grapefruit, sweet cherry, spring flowers, musks, woods. It's a limited-edition.

Arden_green_tea_cherry_blossom.jpgElizabeth Arden have also issued their annual revisit of Green Tea with the new Green Tea Cherry Blossom Eau Parfumée. The work is usually entrusted to perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux who last year composed Green Tea Camellia.

Fragrance notes: Bergamot, green tea steam, sparkling lemon, green tea leaves, cherry blossoms, cherry wood, angelica, birch bark, moss. It's a limited edition.
