Diptyque are Writing a New Chapter of their History {Fragrance News} {Perfume Images & Ads}
The slow unveiling of a new fragrance concept has started at Diptyque, one of the earliest "petite", perfume houses having decided to bow less to market pressures (see Looking Back at Niche Perfumery) to use a different term than the usual "niche" expression one...
These houses prefer to concentrate, in principle, on laser-focused taste groups although in practice and over time, "niche" has become more of a stereotypical label than a sincere profession of faith.
The brand have released a mysterious, artistic black and white photography of a perfume bottle in a shape hitherto unknown for the label next to a penciled number "03,3".
In 2011 they announced a new project dedicated to authorial perfumery, Les Invités du Trente-Quatre, which was also described as a "new chapter" and was inaugurated with Eau Mage, Eau Particulière and a candle called Curiosités. The perfumes were housed in fragrance bottles different from the ones appearing in the normal collection, one being identical to the one used for 34, Boulevard Saint Germain directly inspired by their famous sticking labels.
