Rochas Les Cascades (2012): Inspired by a Parisian Fountain & Sicily {New Perfume}

Rochas_Les_Cascades_ad_2.jpgRochas will launch a new women's perfume from May 2012 called Les Cascades : Eclats d'Agrumes (Waterfalls: Citrus Sparkles) inspired by a streaming Parisian fountain in the summer as well as a trip to Sicily to the foot of mount Etna made by in-house perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez. The fresh fragrance is fronted by socialite, model and actress Olivia Palermo...

The brand underlines the fact that Les Cascades is an entirely new composition with ties nevertheless to the core fresh-eaux heritage of the house exemplified by their best-seller Eau de Rochas (1970), followed more recently by Eau Sensuelle (2009), Eau de Rochas Fraîche (2010) but also announced by the early Eau de Roche (1948) and Rochas La Rose Eau de Jeunesse (1949) (incidentally, expect to see a post on the trend for "wellness waters" this spring-summer).

Perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez said that he aimed to create a simultaneous impression of heat and freshness.

Notes include: mandarin, Sichuan black pepper, pineapple, mango, white flowers, bergamot and musk.

The fragrance launches exclusively at Marionnaud in May, first in France then in other European countries in July.

"The 50-ml. eau de toilette will retail for 48 euros, or $63.45 at current exchange, while the 100-ml. version is to be 72 euros, or $95.20, in France."
