Maison Martin Margiela Replica Collection Flower Market, Beach Walk & Funfair Evening (2012) {New Perfumes}
More news about the new Replica concept by Maison Martin Margiela which turns out to be even more literally about copying than expected and more than just about a solo creation (see early announcement)...
The new, open-ended collection debuts with three compositions baptized Flower Market (Marché aux Fleurs*), Beach Walk (Promenade sur la Plage*) and Funfair Evening (Soirée à la Fête Foraine*).The concept evolved from the eponymous capsule fashion collection by the brand inspired by hand-selected flea-market finds which are then faithfully replicated with the care usually displayed by curators.
“We reproduce these pieces we love identically, in terms of look, in terms of fit, and — if we can — also in terms of fabrics, [...] Here, the idea was to adapt this concept to the world of fragrances and to create some scents that [are] part of our collective memory. And they are linked to specific memories, specific souvenirs of images, moments, epoch, places — everything,”
The perfumes are co-signed by perfumers Jacques Cavallier and Marie Salamagne of Firmenich.
Flower Market features notes of freesia, Grasse rose petals, jasmine sambac and tuberose.
Beach Walk has notes of bergamot, lemon, pink pepper, ylang-ylang, coconut milk, musk and heliotrope.
Funfair Evening includes notes of apple, star anise (badiane) and a marshmallow accord built on caramel and orange blossom.
The 100 ml Eau de Toilettes will be distributed through 300 doors only, half the number of doors for Untitled, first in Italy and Belgium from June 2012.
