Comme des Garçons Amazingreen (2012): Green Perfume Supremo {New Perfume}
As emerald green has been declared to be a color of fashion this summer and everywhere in Paris you can see pops of emerald forest green appear, Comme des Garçons are launching their newest perfume called Amazingreen. It was composed by perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault.
"An explosion of green energy
The expression of the luxuriating exhuberance of nature
A fusion of green notes and gunpowder"...
Comme des Garçons say that they view it as "the creation of the supreme green perfume". It is a "blinding fusion of organic and mineral material, of freshness and depth".
"Gunpowder" as a note refers to the real thing, not the green tea going by the same name which Comme des Garçons incidentally incorporated in the past in their by now discontinued perfume Sweet Nomad Tea.
The eau de parfum is said to open on top notes of palm leaves, green pepper, dewy mist, jungle leaves. The heart rests upon notes of ivy leaves, orris roots, coriander seeds, flint. In the base, you have an accord of gunpowder, vetiver, smoke and white musk.
The composition sounds highly original with perhaps an intellectual nod in the direction of Terre d'Hermès which features an accord of "silex" or flint. Palm leaves were recently featured in Guerlain Lys Soleia to create an impression of sharp greenness.
To us, it is personally reminiscent of an olfactive experience we described earlier on on the blog of a 4th of July where "the countryside smelled fresh and cool in the evening mixed with gunpowder". We can't wait to see how this perfume might connect to that memory.
