L'Artisan Parfumeur The Grasse Collection Offers Variations in Scent Supports (2012) {New Perfumes} {Home Fragrance}
With the weather turning incongruously autumnal and pluviose in the middle of summer in Paris, it does not feel like it is too early to announce new perfumes by L'Artisan Parfumeur meant to keep you warm for the upcoming fall and winter season. A new lineup of scents called The Grasse Collection inspired by the Grasse back-country specifically will be introduced from October 2012. Its characteristic is to illustrate variation in scent supports, from perfumed candles poured into Chinese ceramics from the Chaozhou region to perfumed leather gloves from the glove-making workshops of Millau in the South of France...
L'Automne captures the poetry of a fall day,
"The L’Automne candle recreates this special muffled atmosphere, where leaves on the ground soften the sound of footsteps. The air is getting fresher, and more humid, the light is getting paler, comforting as the wind picks up."
Notes include lavender, chestnut, caramel, blackcurrant, cedar, lichen.
L'Hiver is about,
"A gathering around the fireplace, surrounded by the comforting scents of smoky woods and pine needles" […] "Imagine being by a burning fireplace, safely tucked-up inside, when all outside is cold and dark."
Conscious that the winter candle would be smelt during the most active season for large family reunions, particular care was given to recreating an atmosphere of intimacy, conviviality and emotion.
Notes include clary sage, pine and fir tree from Grasse.
The jars containing the wax formula, made out of 6 different types of wax, offer a silvery finish in a technique mastered by the Chinese ceramists of Chaozhou province. The perfume concentrate and wax were combined by artisans in the South of France. The wicks are made out of cotton with a paper center.
1.5 kg candle is 220€ and burns over 100 hours
200 g candles is 55€ and burns over 60 hours
Mûre et Musc Extrême Scented Leather Gloves
The Grasse Collection also features a going-back movement to the early roots of the trade with a new limited-edition offering of scented kid leather gloves perfumed with their "iconic" Mûre et Musc Extrême (1993). An ancient tradition, few perfume houses now propose this object of refinement.
L'Artisan Parfumeur collaborated with famous glove-maker Causse est. 1892 from Millau in the South of France. The compagny is considered to be part and parcel of French patrimony having the status of "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant."
A special concentrate of the perfume was developed. It ensures that the gloves will be scented for up to three years. The bottled perfume can be used to refresh the scented leather without deteriorating it.
The silk-lined gloves will be available from October 2012 in a run of 100 copies. Available in 4 sizes (XS, S, M, L). Price: 320€.
Two more candles will be introduced in 2013, Printemps and Eté. A new L'Artisan perfume will be launched in the spring of 2013.
