M. Micallef Parfum Couture Denis Durand for M. Micallef (2013) {New Perfume}

Grasse-based perfume house of M. Micallef are launching a new perfume tonight at the Palm-beach during the Cannes Shopping Festival inspired by the world of glamorous show-business couture. It is entitled Parfum Couture Denis Durand for M. Micallef. The juice is the result of a collaboration and friendship between house co-founder Martine Micallef and fashion designer Denis Durand. The latter is established in Cannes and offers a couture style which can be best described as being red-carpet ready...

Visibly influenced by the desiderata of an industry where the spectacular is needed and showiness a must, this is the type of style that you expect to see at the Oscars or the Cannes festival. 

The eau de parfum opens on top notes of cinnamon from Ceylon and mandarin from Italy. In the heart you have Bulgarian rose, honey, orange blossom and Animalis. The base features sandalwood, patchouli, amber and musk.

"Animalis" is the name of a specialty base created by fragrance company Synarome noted for its warm, furry and as the name indicates, animalic notes. It is compared to the mythical Tonkin musk. 

Price is 145€ for 50 ml. The bottle is wrapped in black Chantilly lace which has been sewn by hand as a touch of artisanal luxury. 

The French brand is internationally distributed. Expect to see the new perfume from April 2013 in select perfumeries.
