Mariage Frères Lily Muguet 2013 in 3 Tea Variations to Fête May Day {Fragrance News - Taste Notes}
Tea house Mariage Frères have launched their annual vintage muguet-scented tea called Lily Muguet followed by the year in which it was issued. Lily Muguet 2013 comes carried by the leaves of black, green and white teas in three distinctive metallic boxes...
The perfumed blend reprises the tradition of offering lucky sprigs of muguet flowers by transferring their reconstituted scent to a cup of tea usually wafting more commonly of jasmine, lotus or rose.
The trick here would be to avoid any overly clean associations with laundry detergents or fine perfumes to make the blend palatable, pleasing and subtly fragrant.
Interestingly enough, the precursor tea perfume Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert (1992) composed by Jean-Claude Ellena now at Hermès was initially inspired according to perfume oral history by a visit to a Mariage Frères store.
A tin box of 50 gr white muguet tea is priced at 25€ and a 100 gr box of either green or black muguet tea is priced at 23€.
