Rochas Songe d'Iris Signs onto the Fig Milk Trend This Spring (2013) {New Fragrance} {Trend Alert}
Rochas have added a new eau to their one-year old collection Les Cascades. It is called Songe d'Iris (Dream of Iris). It follows on the debut scent named Les Cascades.
While the first emphasized its capacity to exude freshness and joie de vivre, the new iris perfume insists it encourages feelings of calm and serenity...
Notes include iris, water lily, floral notes, chocolate and fig milk, describing a gourmand and fresh scent composed by perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez, the author of the first Cascades Eclat d'Agrumes (Waterfalls Sparkling Citruses).
The fragrance industry seem to be pushing the fig-milk accord as it is appearing in several other new perfumes this spring of 2013: Caudalie Figue de Vigne; Bien-Être eau de Cologne aux bourgeons de figuier; Roger et Gallet Fleur de Figuier; and now Rochas Songe d'Iris.
While Premier Figuier by Olivia Giacobetti for l'Artisan Parfumeur launched in 1994 is the reference early fragrance for the novel idea of a fig composition, the recent slew of new fig releases might have been inspired anew by Womanity by Thierry Mugler which showcases a prominent fig accord. Thierry Mugler Angel happens to be one of the top-copied perfumes in the world. It has generated an endless stream of copycats and they remain for this reason alone a top-watched brand due to their creativity and success at allying the right dose of quirkiness with market sellability.
