Robert Pattinson To Promote New Image of Dior Homme, For Sure {Fragrance News} {Celebrity Perfume}
If it needed confirming, it's been confirmed. On Wednesday, Dior Parfums made an official announcement to say that actor Robert Pattinson will indeed be their front man for their upcoming new masculine ad campaign. The blog reported the news first back in October 2012...
He will be the new face of Dior Homme, an elegant iris and leather perfume eminently borrowable by women, which has been so far represented by actor Jude Law.
The new ad film was shot in New York City by director Romain Gavras, the son of director Costa-Gavras. The print campaign is photographed by Nan Goldin.
Pattinson fans will be disappointed to learn that the glamorous new images won't be officially publicized in the United States, but only in Europe, except for the UK, an unexpected twist since the actor hails from that very country. The ways of marketing are mysterious sometimes. The ads will circulate in Asia, except for Japan and China, also unexpected, but there must be a master plan behing the scheme, which is left unexplained by Women's Wear Daily who reported it.
Dior reportedly were won over not by his tabloid presence thanks to his tumultuous relationship with co-star and girlfriend Kristen Stewart but by the range of his acting talent displayed in movies going beyond the Twilight franchise. His title role in a film inspired by a classic French novel Bel Ami by Maupassant might have been another convincing point closer to home despite the unlikeliness of the central character, a cold-blooded arriviste at the core.
