Nest Fragrances Launch Gallery of Painterly Floral Perfumes (2013) {New Fragrances}
Nest Fine Fragrances founded by Laura Slatkin - the wife of fragrance designer Harry Slatkin - have launched a collection of five perfumes called Dahlia & Vines, Midnight Fleur, White Sandalwood, Passiflora and Amazon Lily which are debuting at Sephora...
The label started out in 2008 with scented candles; this is further exploration of perfume with more complex compositions destined to be worn on skin. You can still fragrance your home you them. Technicall though, they're personal fragrances.
The floral theme is obvious, with one woody perfume, White Sandalwood. The bottles however all show a dedication to the painterly floral thematic looking like they could match a particularly beautiful wallpaper in your room. The interior-decor sensitivity of the Slatkins is apparent. The scents are said to be inspired by the botanical art prints exhibited on each flacon in the syle of Mary Delany's art which can be seen in The Paper Garden.
Dahlia & Vines features notes of Bergamot, Lychee, Pink Pepper, Peony, Rose, Daffodil, Green, Vanilla, White Amber. Raspberry. It's a lush floral.
Midnight Fleur showcases Black Amber, Vanilla Orchid, Ylang Ylang, Rhubarb, Jasmine, Blue Cyclamen, Green Apple, Patchouli, Tonka Bean, Exotic Woods.
White Sandalwood blends both Australian and Indian sandalwoods listing White Sandalwood, Mimosa, Acacia Blossom, Creamy Almond, Exotic Spices, Musk, Cedar.
Passiflora rests on Passion Flower, Water Hyacinth, Lily of the Valley, Magnolia, Greens, Watery Nuances, Anjou Pear, Cantaloupe Melon, Black Currant, Sandalwood.
Amazon Lily wafts of Amazon Lily, Brazilian Lime, Tangerine, Bergamot, Galapagos Driftwood, White Musk.
Each eau de parfum is priced at $65 for 1.7 fl oz and $25 for 0.28 fl oz.
