John Varvatos Artisan Acqua (2013) {New Perfume} {Men's Cologne}
American fashion designer John Varvatos is launching a new men's fragrance in his Artisan range ca. 2009 called Artisan Acqua. The composition is inspired by the Mediterranean sea and the category called beach-y or marine scents...
The eau de toilette is the creation of perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan who did the previous 4 fragrances for the Varvatos portfolio.
Composition opens on top notes of tangelo, mandarin, paradisamide, galbanum, lentisque and angelica root leading to a the heart of clary sage, lavender, coriander, toscanol, basil, geranium, palmarosa and jasmine sambac while the base gest anchored with moss, patchouli and fir balsam.
Paradisamide per Givaudan is explained as "a long lasting, fresh tropical fruit note of guava and passion fruit with nuances of grapefruit, rhubarb and cassis." Toscanol is yet another synthetic molecule unveiled for us which adds "anisic, agrestic and aromatic" nuances.
The bottle retains its artisanal touch with a twine covering this time.
Available in 2.5 oz. for $64 and 4.2 oz. for $84.
