Soccer star and fashion icon David Beckham has launched a new limited-edition fragrance for men called Intense Instinct for Him...

It is said to be a more masculine and intense version of Instinct.

The fruity-aromatic eau de toilette was composed by perfumer Alain Astori of IFF whose inspiration was "the confidence and determination of the internationally successful athlete."

Young retiree from competition David Beckham who is now spending more of his time and energy with his family - seen often pictured with adorable toddler daughter Harper in the tabloids- while continuing with sports business ventures the latest being his purchase of a Major League Soccer franchise he wants to bring to Miami said,

"Intense Instinct is a very invigorating masculine fragrance and I am convinced that a man has to trust his instincts in life - . , And it is exactly this idea which has inspired me to create my new fragrance variant,"

The scent is described as having "A fizzy top of watermelon, lemon & ginger combining with the freshness of coriander, cedar leaf and violet leaf in the heart, underlined by white cedarwood, teak wood & musk in the drydown."

You can't help but make a comment about the difference which exists between what a celebrity wear and what a celebrity sells as perfume for his brand. The Beckhams buy Creed fragrances in the luxury niche market and sell, well, Beckham perfumes in the mass-market. According to The Style Arbiter, David Beckham shops for Creed Tabarome, Original Santal and Silver Mountain Water for himself and Acqua Fiorentina for Victoria Beckham.
