Yves Saint Laurent Splendid Wood (2014) {New Fragrance}
A Wood Note So Famous You Need Only Allude to It
Yves Saint Laurent will add a fourth fragrance to their exclusive Oriental Collection with Splendid Wood. Like Chanel and Dior, the house created last year an haute-parfumerie collection. Unlike them and more like Armani, their niche offering comes in an Orientalist flavor reviving the myth of Oriental opulence...
The new composition follows Supreme Bouquet, Majestic Rose and Noble Leather.
Splendid Wood is co-signed by perfumers Marie Salamagne of Firmenich and Amandine Marie of Robertet.
Salamagne already contributed the same type of luxurious, Orientalist fragrance compositions for Armani Privé with La Femme Nacre and Rose d'Arabie L'Or du Désert while Marie previously created Precious Oud for Van Cleef & Arpels in La Collection Extraordinaire and Oud Save the King for Atkinsons.
The new spicy and woodsy eau de parfum features notes of cardamom, incense, Sambac jasmine petals combining with a bouquet of Oriental woody essences including Cypriol essence, cedar wood and a recreated accord of oud wood.
Launch date is March 3, 2014.
Price: 190€ for 80 ml.
