Diptyque Eau de Lavande (2014) {New Perfume}
The Rich Lavender Facet of Provence
Diptyque wish to bring out the natural nobility of the fragrance of lavender with Eau de Lavande in the Eaux Florales creations by creating a bouquet made up of three French lavenders in the hope of refocusing attention on its affective and precious facets instead of calling to mind all that is cheap and easy...
The brand have attempted to capture the natural scent of the flowers, but also its impression when it has been dried by the sun and reveals itself to be darker and woodier. While an absolute of lavender is available, it, in and of itself does not yield the nature print scent of the flower.
The composition weaves three different lavender threads. There is an expensive Provençal lavender absolute which is rarely used due to its cost; a lavender essence from the Vaucluse region; and a Lavandin from Valansole.
Other notes within the eau de toilette include incense, sandalwood, coriander seeds, nutmeg, cinnamon leaves.
Eau de Lavande will be available from May 2014. Prices: 75€ and 36€.
