Cerruti have a launched a new duo of perfumes in the 1881 series called 1881 Bella Notte Femme and 1881 Bella Notte Homme. Perfumer Aurélien Guichard of Givaudan signs the feminine version while nose Olivier Cresp of Firmenich authors the masculine one...
Both perfumes have been inspired by the atmosphere of a summer night. Guichard said, "This soft music of a summer night plays on all registers of seduction. It is a story about contained desire, mysterious elegance and chiaro-oscuro charm."
Belle Notte for women is characterized by a blackberry nectar accord and Sicilian bergamot in the beginning followed by a heart of orange blossom petals and a base of amber, musk and black vanilla.
Spicy-woody Bella Notte for Men opens on Sichuan pepper, coriander leaves, Mexican limette and juniper berries. Un The heart features a night-blooming jasmine spiced up by cinnamon from Sri Lanka, nutmeg, and black cardamom. The base releases an enveloping carnal accord with cedarwood, musk, patchouli and vanilla.
In a rather uncharacteristic fashion, one can note that the eau de toilette for men is more expensive than the women's eau de parfum: 55,90€ vs. 44,90€. The first composition does sound more complex than the feminine one, judging from the list of notes.
