Ajmal W Series Amber Wood, Hatkora Wood, Santal Wood (2014) {New Fragrances}

Ajmal, a Dubai-based perfume house with roots in Assam, India, have launched a new trio of fragrances called Amber Wood, Hatkora Wood and Santal Wood in the W series...

They are known for being at the forefront of natural oudh research having patented a shortened maturation technique for the material, from 25-30 years to 10 years while having worked on planting new forests for prospective oud harvesting from 1976.

Amber Wood:

"Amber Wood is a veritable masterpiece from the range that is infused with the most exquisite redolence of Amber."

The Eau de Parfum opens with top notes of fruit and spice infused with Apple, white pepper, lavender and cardamom with orris and cedarwood in the heart and amber wood and patchouli in the base.

Hatkora Wood:

"Hatkora is a semi-wild species of citrus and its amazing perfume emanates from oil of the fruit\'s luscious peel [sic]. W Series Hatkora Wood guarantees using the finest Hatkora wild lemons sourced from Assam, Mizoram and Manipur for this fragrance."

The top is citrusy and fruity with Hatkora (Citrus macroptera), lemon and peach.The spicy floral heart weaves ginger, saffron, rose and lavender and the base rests on notes of woody ambery agarwood, sandalwood, musk and ambergris.

Santal Wood:

"Santal Wood is instilled with the aura of Sandalwood providing an ethereal feeling of so pure poetry [sic]. Made with the finest Sandalwood oil from the Western Ghats of India, every drop of Santal Wood is a journey of discovery."

Top is spicy and floral with cumin, cardamom and marigold. The heart features jasmine, rose, ginger and cedarwood. The base is woody with sandalwood, agarwood and patchouli.
