Maiyet X Barneys New York {2014} {New Fragrance}

Barneys have unveiled their latest fragrance collaboration with a fashion label, this time it's with Maiyet...

The composition is signed by perfumer Ralf Schwieger of Mane who has worked with the idea of creating a coherent patchwork of aromatic materials which are meaningful to Maiyet.

...the scent incorporates adventurous elements from exotic locations where Maiyet works. With a subtle nod to Maiyet's celebrated embrace of rare skills from unexpected places, hidden surprises like Sichuan Pepper & Cedar merge into a fragrance of refined simplicity. Together with Barneys New York, Maiyet is excited to add a new dimension to the Maiyet woman through the time-honored power of scent. Championing the Maiyet social consciousness, the sweet and nutty hints of Namibian Myrrh were harvested in partnership with The Kustha Project, an organization promoting economic empowerment through fair trade and labor. Maiyet will donate 5% of fragrance sales to The Kustha Project.

The eau de parfum opens on top notes of Italian Bergamot, Sichuan pepper, followed next by Indian Jasmine and Saffron, and Namibian Myrrh and continued with Cedarwood, Indian Sandalwood and Indonesian Patchouli.
