Davidoff Leather Blend (2014) {New Perfume} {Men's Cologne}

Davidoff have released a new eau de parfum for men called Leather Blend which plays with intensity allied with exclusivity...

The composition is signed by perfumer Christophe Raynaud of Givaudan who also did 1 Million by Paco Rabanne, Yves Rocher Ambre Noir, Lancôme L'Autre Ôud, and many more.

If you read in between the lines, you can expect this new opus to be another fragrance influenced by the oud trend, nay, cultural shift altough no oud is mentioned.

A second visual for the fragrance confirms this hunch. Arabic letters simply transcribing "Leather Blend" visually promote the scent to the Middle Eastern clientèle.

Officially, the ad copy states that,

Paying tribute to Zino Davidoff's passion for quality and fine craftsmanship, Leather Blend celebrates a noble and sought-after ingredient: leather. This new fragrance offers a unique experience, an olfactory and sensory journey into a universe of sophistication and unrivalled elegance.

The top features luminous saffron and pepper while the heart showcases a "rich and addictive" rose narguile - a fantasy rose accord with tobacco - with amber and the base rests on a sensual leather accord contrasted with papyrus wood.

It is one of those so-called "designer" fragrances which aim at reaching out to the connoisseurs market.
