Happy Veterans Day - 11 Novembre {Perfume & Images}
Here's a picture of Georges Clémenceau smelling a rose...
Happy Veterans Day!
The centenary of the end of WWI was celebrated with day long events in France.
Most talks about smells were about terrible ones in the trenches and battlefields.
Clémenceau however was that political man and fighter who knew when to stop and smell the roses. He also was an avid collector of Japanese incense boxes and his was the biggest collection in the world in his times.
I love this picture where you can see his mischievous eyes above a rose hiding - and in fact sort of replacing his nose. He reportedly had hundreds of roses in his garden.
Let us remember the darkness, but also the light.
