Perfume by Patrick Süskind to be Adapted into a TV Series {Movies & Olfaction}
German production company Constantin Film Produktion announced on October 13th, 2014 at MIPCOM in Cannes that they are interested in adapting the movie based on the novel by Patrick Süskind, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer into a TV series...
They were one of the distribution partners of the 2006 movie by Tom Tykwer together with DreamWorks and Metropolitan FilmExport.
No further details have been forthcoming so far but Variety reported on the interest of Constantin Film in boosting their TV fiction business in general as they prepare to adapt movie franchise Resident Evil and Mortal Instruments to TV as well.
This adaptation project of Perfume would be especially interesting if the basic story line were used as a creative spring board for spinning out more scenario ideas around the recognizable core.
