Penhaligon's As Sawira (2015) {New Perfume}
Penhaligon's est. 1870 will launch the fourth installment and last chapter in the Trade Routes collection inaugurated this year in 2014. The upcoming scent is called As Sawira and will debut from January 2015...
The composition is a woodsy chypre which was created by perfumer Christian Provenzano of CPL Aromas who also did Levantium in the same collection.
As Sawira is named after the port city Essaouira in Morocco, which was a crossroad of Saharian trade routes and in particular was the first port to establish a direct connection with London in the 19th century.
The unisex eau de parfum opens on head notes of Bergamot, Davana, Safffron and Wormwood or Absinthe followed by a heart of Rose, Jasmine, Carnation, Clove, Cardamom and Labdanum. In the base, you have Amber, Oud, Myrrh, Gaïac Wood, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Musk, Vanilla and Maltol.
